Mr. Joe Matome is a distinguished figure in Botswana’s socio-economic and environmental sectors, contributing significantly to policy formulation and implementation across various domains. His extensive career spans pivotal roles including Chairman and Former Secretary of the Kalahari Conservation Society, Former Chairman of the Mokolodi Wildlife Foundation’s Finance and Management Committee, and Current Member of its Board of Trustees. 

He has also served as a Former Board Member of the Khama Rhino Sanctuary and held positions such as Former Board Secretary at the Botswana Gambling Authority and Former Group Company Secretary at Debswana Diamond Company (Pty) Limited and Anglo-American Corporation Botswana.

Mr. Matome’s expertise extends to corporate governance, risk management, corporate communications, and the safeguarding of agreements between the government and De Beers. His leadership roles include Former Chairman of Botswana Postal Services and involvement in entities like Debswana Investments (SA) in Luxembourg and Sesiro Insurance Company (Pty) Limited in Gaborone.

Educated at prestigious institutions including Bath University (UK) and United World College of the Atlantic (UK), Mr. Matome holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Business Administration and has contributed significantly to sustainable development programs and strategic planning initiatives. He continues to be actively involved in community development, environmental conservation, and cultural pursuits such as acting, singing, and photography.
